Arch Linux RISC-V
Community port
Distribution
Needs some effort
Bottom line
Arch's "official" here is only the port's own tested list, not official Arch support — the page should mark it as a community port.
- Based on
- Arch Linux
- Upstream
- Arch Linux RISC-V is a community port (archriscv.felixc.at, maintained by Felix Yan and others): it builds Arch source packages with an extra patch set and is not in the official Arch repos yet. Its site says the long-term goal is only "riscv64 can be added to Arch Linux itself as an alternative architecture".
- Versions
- rolling (ISO archlinux-2026.08.27-riscv64.iso, rootfs archriscv-2026-08-27.tar.zst)
- Doc languages
- en
- Checked

Boards
- QEMU virt (virtual machine) Official Explicitly "tested" upstream: QEMU is on the supported list of the mainline linux package
- SiFive HiFive Unmatched Official HiFive Unmatched / Unleashed are on the tested list
- StarFive VisionFive 2 Official VisionFive v2 (and Milk-V Mars) are on the tested list
- LicheePi 4A Partial Only an experimental TH1520 kernel in the [unsupported] repo
- Milk-V Meles Partial TH1520 platform via the [unsupported] experimental kernel; not listed separately
- SpacemiT K3 (Pico-ITX / CoM260) Partial Not on the supported list; upstream says boards other than AX45MP may need a BSP or custom kernel
- Zhihe A210 (XuanTie MelonPi dev board) Partial Not on the supported list; needs a BSP or custom kernel
- Canaan K230 (Kendryte K230 / CanMV-K230) Partial Only credited as a sponsored test board; no formal support entry
- Milk-V Megrez (ESWIN EIC7700X) Community ESWIN EIC7700 is credited as a test board; no formal support entry
- Milk-V Titan (UltraRISC DP1000) Partial Not on the supported list
- Milk-V Pioneer (SG2042, server-oriented) Partial Only an experimental SG2042 kernel in the [unsupported] repo
- Orange Pi RV2 (Ky X1) Partial Not on the supported list; needs a BSP or custom kernel
- Banana Pi BPI-F3 (SpacemiT K1) Community BananaPi F3 is credited as a test board; no formal support entry

Pitfalls
- Not pure upstream: every package is built from Arch source packages with patches kept in the archriscv-packages repo
- LicheePi 4A (TH1520) and Milk-V Pioneer (SG2042) only have experimental kernels in the [unsupported] repo
- AX45MP boards are largely unusable as-is: "Other boards, except those with AX45MP, may work with a BSP or custom kernel"
- The default rootfs account is root/archriscv — change it after installing
- Still an alt architecture target, not in the official Arch repos
