Based on

Debian-based + deepin's own repos (deepin 25 "crimson"); kernel 6.6/6.12/6.16 depending on board, mainline kernel on DP1000

Upstream

Downstream vendor distro: the deepin community edition inherits Debian packages and adds its own repos and the linglong package format; RISC-V is maintained by the deepin-ports SIG and officially marked as a technical preview.

• RISC-V is still an official technical preview, short on stability and completeness
• Per-board images are tar.xz rather than ISO and must be unpacked and written manually; the generic 25.2.0 ISO needs UEFI boot
• The liveimage-desktop installer creates no default user; the default root password is deepin
• There are immutable (read-only root) variants, where modifying the system works differently
• deepin RISC-V has community-level support only; commercial support means UnionTech UOS
